“(M)otherhood: On the Choices of Being a Woman” is a thought-provoking book by Pragya Agarwal that explores the complex and often fraught decisions women face when deciding whether or not to become mothers. Drawing on her personal experiences as well as interviews with a diverse range of women, Agarwal delves into the societal and cultural pressures that can shape our choices around motherhood. Through a mix of personal anecdotes, scientific research, and cultural analysis, she challenges readers to rethink their assumptions about what it means to be a mother and a woman in today’s world. The book offers a nuanced and empathetic look at the complexities of motherhood, and will be of interest to anyone grappling with these issues.
