Emotional Intelligence: Why It Can Matter More Than IQ
Rs. 2,890.00
Daniel Goleman
“A thoughtfully written, persuasive account explaining emotional intelligence and why it can be crucial.”—USA Today
“Good news to the employee looking for advancement [and] a wake-up call to organizations and corporations.”—The Christian Science Monitor
In stock
Author, Daniel Goleman, argues that Emotional Intelligence of people was more important than their IQ in order for them to have productive lives. People who were well adjusted emotionally were more likely to have better leadership skills, mental health and job performance. According to Goleman superior EI (Emotional Intelligence) was twice as necessary as skills and IQ required for completing a job.
The skill could be taught in schools to enable the students to turn into stable employees and leaders in the future. The author also listed the methods EI could be integrated into the school curriculum. This theory of Goleman’s has come under severe criticism as it has been contended that Emotional Intelligence is not really an Intelligence, but just a set of behavioral traits.
About the Author
DANIEL GOLEMAN is the author of the international bestsellers Emotional Intelligence, Working with Emotional Intelligence, and Social Intelligence, and the co-author of the acclaimed business bestseller Primal Leadership. His latest books are What Makes a Leader: Why Emotional Intelligence Matters and The Triple Focus: A New Approach to Education. Reliably thought-provoking, often engrossing … Peterson has a sharp eye for the vagaries of human nature, and he can be a compelling storyteller, especially when narrating his own experiences and those he has observed from life. Capital (Das Capital)
Rs. 4,490.00or 3 X Rs.1,496.67 withRead moreKarl Marx
Capital is a critical analysis of capitalism as political economy and how it is the precursor of the socialist mode of production. Karl Marx proposes that the motivating force of capitalism is in the exploitation of labour, whose unpaid work is the ultimate source of profit and surplus value. The employer can claim right to the profits (new output value), because he or she owns the productive capital assets (means of production), which are legally protected by the State through property rights. In producing capital (money) rather than commodities (goods and services), the workers continually reproduce the economic conditions by which they labour. Capital proposes an explanation of the “laws of motion” of the capitalist economic system, from its origins to its future, by describing the dynamics of the accumulation of capital, the growth of wage labour, the transformation of the workplace, the concentration of capital, commercial competition, the banking system, the decline of the profit rate and land-rents.

It is a work of philosophy and morality, a reconciliation of science and religion. There is even plot and excitement… It was only with the restrained, elegant epilogue written by his wife Lucy Kalanithi that I found myself weeping helplessly… When Breath Becomes Air tells us what means to live a good life, by giving us a glimpse into an exceptional one.” (Lucy Kellaway Financial Times)
